Cameron McArthur is a London-based composer, sound designer and double bassist from Aotearoa/New Zealand.

 

He has most recently assisted composers Aaron May and David Ridley on the second season of ITV's MALPRACTICE (2025). Prior to this, he scored additional music on the SXSW premiering feature film WE WERE DANGEROUS, composed for AutoDesk’s software commercial FIANO and scored Alice Englert’s feature film BAD BEHAVIOUR (2024) starring Jennifer Connelly and Ben Whishaw, which premiered in competition at the Sundance Film Festival.

 

Currently collaborating on a short form project for Bonnie Moir and Nicholas Denton, as well as pre-scoring Alice Englert's sophomore feature, Cameron has previous to the above, composed for Justwo’s video game ESCAPE LOGAN ESTATE (2018) and Molly O’Shea’s proof of concept HELLO, I'M A GHOST (2021) among other composition works outside of film.

 

As a performing artist with over a decade of experience, he has performed with artists Nir Felder, Michael Cain

and Pheeroan akLaff as well as New Zealand artists Roger Manins, Kevin Field, Ron Samsom, Nathan Haines, Norman Meehan and Jonathan Crayford.

He appears on albums by Ron Samsom, Anita Schwabe, Michal Martynuik and The Auckland Jazz Orchestra. Cameron also taught for two years as an artist teacher at the Auckland University Jazz Performance Programme until moving abroad in 2024.
